The Sandon estate is being proposed as an eco-agricultural zone, with a design strategy that emphasises the restoration of natural waterways, the establishment of riparian ecological corridors, and the expansion of agroforestry systems.
This plan aims to halt the decline of the local agricultural-based economy while simultaneously revitalising the area's biodiversity. Furthermore, the introduction of a new food source for the farmers' market will contribute to the overall development of the local economy.
The first step is to excavate a fixed-form river channel, allowing water to naturally flow and take on an initial winding state. Once the water system for the site is established, silvoarable, silvopasture and windbreak systems are introduced.
After the site is re-excavated for water channels, the land types are reorganised. Three years later, the waterways gradually develop a winding natural flow pattern. A decade later, the riverbank green buffer zone naturally takes shape.
As the ecosystem on the site gradually recovers and the agricultural model takes shape, a portion of the local wildlife species return due to abundant and natural habitats.
