This project is located along the Francigena route at Shepherdswell, Kent, next to existing playing fields.
The concept rotates around the idea of creating unassuming “life-sharing”; offering an opportunity for pilgrims, hikers, visitors and local residents to share their experience of the walk, the landscape and life stories, even local produce, echoing Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.
The design, which preserves the original topography, introduces an exchange library and outdoor seating for sport and theatre events, offering a mixed programme attractive to juniors and seniors, while offering a resting space and shop providing local produce for hikers and visitors.
